You can find the first part of this interview over on Philip's website here:
http://www.philiptolhurst.co.uk/my-story/
Time is running short and there's so much I wish to ask him so I resort to the rapid fire technique.
Sophie: Okay let's try some quick fire questions: When is your birthday and when were you born?
Phil: 4th April 1972
Sophie: What did you want to be when you grew up?
Phil: A nuclear physicist or a rocket scientist.
Sophie: What were your favourite and worst subjects at school?
Phil: Maths was my favourite and French my least favourite sunjects I just didn't like the teacher at all.
Sophie: Where do you write?
Phil: Anywhere I can but mainly at home on the computer.
Sophie: Do you write out your stories or use a word processor?
Phil: My handwiriting is awful, I blame the fact I'm a lefty, so I type everything I never make written notes. I use Scrivener for most of my writing.
Sophie: Who is your favourite author?
Phil: My favourite author is Terry Pratchett.
Sophie: What's your favourite book?
Phil: I alternate between; Making money by Terry Pratchett and The Amulet of Samarkand by Jonathan Stroud
Sophie: What is your favourite food?
Phil: Steak and chips with a nice salad.
Sophie: What is your least favourite food?
Phil: Honey; just the smell of it makes me heave. I get that from my mum apparently.
Sophie: What is your favourite desert?
Phil: Sara Lee's Double Layer Chocolate Gateux is to die for.
Sophie: What is your favourite colour?
Phil: Aubergine; you know a purple so deep it looks almost black.
Sophie: What do you do in your spare time?
Phil: I like to read, cook, go to the theatre, and meet up with friends.
Sophie: What is your favourite film?
Phil: That is such a hard question but I think I'd go with Close encounters of the first kind.
Sophie: What's the first film you saw on your own in the cinema?
Phil: Tron and it was at the Odeon, Well Hall in South East London.
Sophie: Where is your favourite place for holidays?
Phil: Duinrell in Holland. It's a great place to take the kids.
Sophie: Okay last one where would you most like to live.
Phil: On an island near Vancouver or a house like the riverside cabin the move The Bodyguard.
By the time we finish talking my coffee is cold and bid him farewell as I head of to my next appointment.
*Phil: The London Evening Herald is the fictitious news paper I created for the teaser website for www.GeorgeAndTheDragon.co.uk
